0822, Sun, 010812. Back in La Paz. Wow, look at that date. A new year has begun. First off I would like to say good morning to all of you regular readers, I hope you have your morning coffee in hand.
It was another whirlwind tour of the Sacramento area, Rocklin / Auburn area really. We had fun driving through town checking out the things that have changed since we have left, a Home Depot here a Bev Mo there. We spent loads of time with the little ones. Our Grandson, Max, is about to turn six and is quick as a whip along with his little sister who will turn two this August as she toddles all over the place. Of course we joined the throngs of people doing their Christmas shopping while we were there, and only managed to get stuck leaving one parking lot where we decided it was too crowded to shop and tried to sneak out to the street. The line getting out was at a standstill. The traveling went without a hitch, no delays in flights, all connections met on time. Pretty amazing considering we traveled by shuttle to the bus station, shuttle for three hours to Cabo San Jose, flight to San Francisco, Bart to East Bay, picked up by the Duda's for an overnight, dropped off at the train to Sacramento, bus to Rocklin, and met by Michelle and Karissa for a ride to their place.
Coming back we have found a great deal on a rental car which cuts out the bus to Sac, train to the East Bay, and Bart to San Francisco in the middle of the night. The car works out great. We drive into the Budget parking lot at SFO, the workers take over as we grab our bags and we are off to the gates.
We were greeted with some great news on this trip. Our son has found the love of his life. They are planning a small wedding this August. We are so excited for both Ryan and Beth, they make a perfect couple.
The grand kids were loads of fun. We took Max on the Polar Express (thank you George for the connection on getting us tickets). The volunteers of the RR museum in Old Town Sacramento put on a great time as they replicate the story book to a "T". Max had a lot of fun, as did we, and even got to see Santa. We each got a special jingle bell right off of Santa's sleigh for a keepsake.
We really whooped it up for New Year's Eve. I think we were all in the sack by nine or ten o'clock and woke for a brief moment hearing the fireworks go off in the neighborhood and the poor dog getting excited.
Getting back to Neos is great, always nice to be home, but not without mixed emotions. Our hearts are left back in the states with all the family and friends. It is nice to be back in the land of T shirts and shorts with only a couple of blankets on the bed and all the windows left open for the night. We just don't miss all the cold
..more later..
