0659, Fri, 061512.     Honeymoon Cove-South.     The wind was to pick up today but it was nice and calm for starters.  Time to make the run into Escondido.  Only about three miles away, it was an easy one.  We didn't feel good about rafting up with just the two of us aboard so we looked for a place to drop the hook.  The prime spot was taken and the other spots around the outside of the waiting room seemed too deep.  We headed to the inside area and dropped the hook next to Belle Brisa.  We scooted out to the waiting room in the dinghy and checked out Rock N Roll.  All is well.  It looked like she had made a few full circles with the wind shifts so I undid the mooring lines to take out the twists eliminating the chance of chafing.  We then went back to Neos and got out the new shade covers and took them into land, finding an abandoned palapa with a concrete floor.  This would be perfect for all the pounding of installing the new grommets.  With that done we took off before the office tagged us for an overnight stay.  As we headed out, the wind had picked up.  Isla Danzante was breaking the wind for us but still we were pushing into 20 knots at times.  With only one other boat in the area of Honeymoon Cove we headed to our favorite spot and dropped the hook.  After lunch and a nice dip in the water we decided to try out the new shade.  It went real well.  I think it is going to do just fine.  The wind had calmed quite a bit and we enjoyed sitting under our shade reading.  What luxury.

Cards, oh hum.  I have now three wins to my credit.  Gotta love this game.  We watched the new True Grit.  Well done.  It was made with no frills.  Usually they make the wild west look like some sort of town you would find nowadays, fairly clean.  This is done with an old look to it.  The characters were gritty, the town was gritty.  Well done.  I really had my doubts how they could pull off such a remake.  I mean, how do you beat John Wayne.  I should have know Steven Spielberg would do it.

The night proved to be a bit gusty with big puffs of wind coming through.  I guess it is time to clean the bottom of the boat since the fish are chewing away at the barnacles.  I guess you could say it was a restless night but it is like a mill pond once again this morning and all is nice, ahhhhh……more later..
