Project two was checking the water level in the batteries. We try to do this every month on the first but with a guest aboard the first came and went. Well, we finally got around to it so that job is well and done. The third project of the day was to clean the bottom of the boat. I donned my wet suit and jumped in. There were lots of little tiny barnacles so it was due. It had been three months since we had the bottom redone, I think the longest it had ever gone in this part of the world, so not bad. I got the props all cleaned up and the bottom from the back up to the keels. Once out of the water I did the usual, washing the salt off of me and the equipment, and I hung the wet suit from the bimini out over the back of the boat to drip dry. The clothes hanger is a cheap plastic one but to hang it from the bimini you have to slip it sideways between the bar and the cloth top. In the evening Sue asked where I had put my wetsuit. It was gone. I can't imagine how the wind could have blown that hanger just right to release the hook. Remember, I mentioned it was one of those cheap plastic hangers. I think maybe the hanger broke in the wind. Oh well, this becomes the second wetsuit to disappear in seven years. Oops!
The rest of the day was nice. We enjoyed the shade, read our books, and just did what we are supposed to do as cruisers.
Card game, well what can I say. She came in close. I'm so hot
..
Movie, Walk the Line. It was the story of Johnny Cash. I think we watched this one long ago, but old age is great. A lot of the story seemed new. I'm not sure how he made it so big. It was funny to see how close he was with people like Jerry Lee Lewis and Elvis. What ever happened to old Jerry?
..more later..
