0652, Wed, 031312.     Nopolo.     We got our first fly by in a long time.  Let me set this up.  Our little cove is lined with houses and a resort all along the beach on one side.  At the curve near the end, the resort turns into a golf course with beautiful green lawns.  Returning on the other side of the cove are some big rocky mounds about 100 feet high with a split in them right next to the curve.  As we sat in our boat yesterday morning around breakfast time we heard an airplane.  It was one of those little two seaters that you see flying in and out of airports everywhere.  As it approached, it sounded very low.  We ran out to look as the guy flew by at about mast level.  We watched as he skimmed down over the beach and slipped right through the cut between the big rocky hills.  What a thrill.

Shoot, after that the rest of the day sounds quite boring.  Our first project was to transfer some fuel from one tank to the other.  I tend to use one motor more for traveling and the other for making water so sometimes we get lopsided on fuel.  I have a little motor/pump with a super duper filter that I run all my fuel through from jerry cans when I load up the boat.  Transferring fuel is another matter.  The pump has lost some of its poop so I have to rig up a hand siphon in line to prime the pump.  The siphon hose fits right into another hose that has a fitting that fits the regular pump hose.  Confusing I know, but it works.  Once all set up it is sit back time and watch it do its work.  About fifty liters later and we were done.

On to the next project.  We worked some more on the shades for the boat.  They are all ready for grommets and hopefully all will fit just right.  I have high hopes, can't wait.

One last project for the day was to make water, so the tanks are full once more.

Entertainment for the day was lots of reading of course.  We also took a quick dip, water is very much on the cool side, and played cards.  Close game, but I pulled it off.

We watched a Transformer movie.  The action (non stop) was done well.  It is fun to see the machines transform, but it wasn't clear who the bad guys were versus the good guys.  They need to color code them better or something for us old guys who didn't grow up with these toys.  Oh well……more later..
