We took off right after breakfast, well maybe a little after that, right after the morning net, and headed downtown for a long walk. We picked up Russ and Janet as we passed through the docks and the four of us were off. We were heading for the market (veggie, fish, etc) that is in the center of town. This is one of those markets where there are a bunch of separate booths with different vendors all displaying their wares. One section has small eateries, another has chicken, and yet other sections have the fish vendors and veggie vendors. RnJ were after the fish vendor to get some fresh tuna to make ceviche for our card snack in the afternoon. The fish is marinated instead of cooked, which actually does cook the fish and then is put over rice, very fancy. A couple of more stores in the area and then it was time to head back to the boats.
After lunch the real excitement happened, right under the boat. I was lying on the bed reading when there was a commotion outside. I could hear the spouting of the dolphins that sounded like it was right outside the window. I got up to look out the porthole but saw nothing. This happened several times when I finally got up to inspect. I walked out on deck, looking and listening, and discovered that the dolphin was chasing the fish between our hulls. I could hear him spouting right below my feet under the trampoline. I ran to the back of the boat, down the steps, and stuck my head over the inside to look between the hulls and the dolphin came racing out and around the step past my head. What a sight. Nothing like being up close and personal with a dolphin.
The card game was another rough lesson for us guys, rats.
Movie time: Senna. It was a biography of the life about Aryton Senna, maybe the best Formula 1 driver up to that time. It was a great story with a tragic ending. It was interesting to see how much politics plays in the game of racing, but maybe not so interesting. I'm sure it wasn't quite that great a movie for Sue but she was very patient with my enthusiasm for Formula 1 racing
..more later..
