1006, Wed, 041713.  La Paz.

We started out the morning early.  Sue had to get up and head into the hospital for an appointment to get that cholesterol checked.  I had to stick around Neos waiting to see if our message was right with the guy picking up the chain.  Sue got to the hospital and back in no time even with a detour on the bus.  They are paving the road that the bus travels down right behind the hospital so this disrupts their usual route.  Sue remembered the driver saying something to the group then she noticed she was at the end of the line instead of at the hospital.  No problem, the driver would be going back past the hospital in about ten minutes, she finally made it.

The guy picking up the chain never did show up but manana simply means later, not necessarily tomorrow.  The rest of the day went quite easily.  We got the cushions out back all cleaned up and put away for our trip.  Working out on the trampoline right next to the dock is a great way to meet your neighbors.  One even stopped by to say she remembered us from our last stay here. She was from the San Francisco Bay Area, Fairfax, so we chatted a bit about the old neighborhood.

Our neighbor across the way from Neos asked how many years I had on my chain before it wore out.  After telling him, of course he got more years out of his, first story teller doesn't have a chance.   First thought that came to mind was to ask if he knew there was more to cruising than being cooped up in a marina all the time (no need to use the anchor), but I simply smiled and let him think he got the better story.

We had forgotten about the slappy fish.  I call them that because it sounds like someone slapping on the hull of the boat at times.  I think they are after the barnacles but they don't seem to clean the bottom off much.  I checked over the side of the boat and saw a bunch of fish underneath, checking out the goodies they could find along the hull.  Fun to watch for awhile.

Prediction shows one more blow before we leave.  We are all ready.  It should be the last norther of the season I should think, then it calms the day we leave.

Last night we were back to "smoothies and a movie" since Sue is trying to use up our fruit and ice.  The movies was a cute Disney, Up.  An animated show with a slightly downer theme, but I thought the dogs were great.  Good entertainment….more later..
