0704, Tue, 050713.  Marina Cortez.

Wow, is Neos ever dirty.  There is a layer of dust on the entire boat, yuck.  I went to clean the solar panels and the three panels on the starboard side were covered  with pelican poop.  Regardless, the batteries are doing fine, but the dirt on the decks will have to wait till later.

We had business around town.  Off we went, after breakfast.  First on the list was to pay the guy in Mexicali for the galvanizing of our chain.  It should be shipped back sometime today.  We had to find the right bank to make payment through.  It felt like we were making some sort of big payment, bank account numbers and exchanges.  When we first entered the bank, I was carrying the backpack to haul groceries back.  If you want attention just carry a big backpack into a bank.  The clerk was right there asking what we wanted.  Sue explained, as best she could in Spanglish, that we needed to make a payment.  The clerk said something quickly in Spanish, we just looked dumb.  She headed off to someone else with the paper work and came back to tell us all we needed to do was to go to the window and make the payment.  OK!

Next on the list was the produce market.  This is the place with a hundred booths all under one roof.  Everything from pig's heads to fish packed in ice.  We were after produce.  There is one booth where the guy is very friendly and efficient.  It all looks good, so it is a matter of how much I could carry.  We filled the backpack: tomatoes, bananas, avocados, and more.  We made a stop to get eggs at the booth across the aisle, two and a half dozen wrapped with tape between a couple of flats, then one more stop on the way home at the local 7/11, Oxxo, for ice all for around two hundred pesos, less than twenty bucks.

Along the way we saw some sand sculptures on the beach.  They have added a few palapas and some new palm trees as well as these sand sculptures.  They look to be made of wet sand over chicken wire. Fish, mantas, turtles and such.  Kind of kewl.

Back on Neos Sue made us lunch and then it was siesta time.  The rest of the day was dawdled away.  I picked up a Fine Homebuilding magazine and settled in with it, Sue was playing on the computer.  We broke for cards mid afternoon and a great game it was.  I won one for the Black Knights with the first game we have played since Russ and Janet have left.  It was a close call but I settled for the win.

Movie time was the third of the Twilight series.  For some reason the sound is real low, then a lot of it is filmed at a whisper, but I get the gist of what is going on, Werewolves and Vampires.  Ok entertainment…..more later..
