A day to watch out for black cats and walking under ladders. Good luck to all.
We headed downtown to the Cal Expo Fair Grounds to take in the RV show. There were lots of RVs to check out. We looked at everything from the big $300,000+ models down to the little trailers with the pop up tents. We really don't know which way we want to go now. I was amazed at the weight of the materials in some of those things. Some had actual floor tile with some sort of thick counter top. I picked up a piece of the counter top that filled in over the sink and couldn't believe how much it weighed. These guys need to head down to the boating industry to see how to lighten it up. I realize that it would cost a lot more to use composite rather than MDF but the weight would be so much less. I guess the people wouldn't pay for it. Of interest was one salesman who said there were about 100 man hours in making a trailer while one of the shells that fit into the back of a pickup had about 200 hours in it.
We pooped out, bought a bottle of water for 3 bucks (wow) and headed out. We did get to see a few Sprinters and got several explanations on that whole thing. It seems Mercedes came up with the idea first and then sold it to Dodge, then bought it back again. Crazy. It was fun, but we still don't know what we will do next.
We watched Glee in the evening and headed for a nice long night's sleep….more later..
