0724, Fri, 092013.  Rocklin, CA.

Yesterday was our day to walk to school with Max.  It's fun to watch what a seven year old comes up with.  There is a favorite spot along the way, a hole in the fence that has a little yippy dog on the other side.  He likes to stick his finger through the hole to see if he can get the attention of the dog.  One day the little pooch got the nerve up to grab Max's finger which startled Max quite a bit.  It was quite awhile before he stuck his finger in the hole again, but he is back to poking the hole.

We then did a little running around town before enjoying lunch with Beth, Ryan's wife.  She works in downtown Sacramento.  We found the building easy enough and eventually found Beth and got a tour of the building and an intro to all her co workers.  Everyone had smiles indicating it must be a nice place to work.  We then headed out to the best little taco stand in the area.  The place was right out of downtown La Paz.  The orders, once given, were shouted to the cook in Spanish and the food was just like we enjoyed in Mexico.   We sat out back at tables but instead of a gravel or dirt floor they had a slab with a solid roof above instead of the usual blue tarp we found in Mexico.  We enjoyed a great chat with Beth and then dropped her off back at work.

We headed home to watch some more America's Cup.  If the US team loses one more it is over so they have to win five in a row to get to the top.  Bad odds, but still not out of the chase.  The boats are so well matched now the deciding factor is more of who makes a tiny mistake.

Movie and Popcorn time:  Four Superheroes.  Now that sounds exciting doesn't it?  What a bunch of losers.  It was a documentary about the street people in Hollywood who panhandle by wearing their favorite superhero costume and getting tips for posing for pictures.  Some of them have some real issues since that is probably all they can ever do.  Others are waiting for that big break into movies.  It is amazing what these people divulge about their past.  Some real weirdoes……more later..
