Friday: The wind was picking up due to a weather front heading in from the ocean. With kite in hand, Sue and I headed down to the local park where I had some fun flying my kite. I have only had the opportunity once before of flying my kite, with my son Ryan on the beach in Puerto Vallarta. This isn't one of those ordinary kites, this one has two strings which facilitate steering. A little tug one way or the other and off the kite goes. It really gets zipping across the sky at times. Wind shifts and lulls add to the challenge of flying the kite with lots of crash landings. Good thing the kite is built strong.
Saturday: A busy day but very enjoyable. It started out in the oh dark thirty hours with a trip up the hill to Auburn joining the other crazy guys for a karate workout. On the way back home, on my pass through downtown Rocklin, I noticed the downtown area was blocked off and filled with hot rods. Sue and I headed over for a fun walk and a good showing of all the kewl cars of the past. One car that really caught my eye was a Cobra with a motor that barely fit in the engine compartment. With merely a quarter of an inch clearance it looked like even the steering gear had to be modified to make it past the motor. I bet that one is fun to drive.
After a good walk and fun time we headed home.
Later in the day the skies opened up right after a great big clap of thunder as I let out a big hoot, not having to worry about the mast getting struck. I didn't even count from flash to thunder. Really turning into a dirt dweller.
Sue and I have a commercial building in Auburn and it is time to put some paint on the outside so we headed over to Home Depot and Lowes to check out the airless sprayers and pressure washers, then filled out our afternoon watching a great race day on the water for the US win at the America's Cup. Finally to finish up the day, our couch showed up so no more sitting on cushions for Sue. She can kick back in style and comfort with her recliner although I was the one to miss the last half of the movie
.zzz..more later..
