We went to an auction in the morning. This is an auction to unload repossessed houses. It was interesting but not a lot to it. One guy sits at a computer as the banks, or whoever the loan agency is, clears the house. I guess they are waiting until the last minute to do this. Once these guys get the ok, the description is put up on a screen. Then the auction starts complete with an auctioneer. This guy can sure rattle off the stuff. At the beginning of the show he reads through several pages of disclaimers and rules of the game but he sounds like the guy at the end of the drug ads on TV. You know it is in English but there isn't any way you can understand a word that is said.
The first house up was starting at market price so it didn't get any bids. Then we stayed long enough for three other houses. One went for a real bargain but it was a $600,000 house that went for about half price. It was an interesting process to watch.
Next stop was the Mercedes Benz store to check out the sprinter vans. It was good timing since the guy who is in charge of selling these vans was off on a seminar so we were turned loose on our own. Perfect. The picture of what these things are all about is getting a little clearer.
Then it was library time where we ran into Michelle and Karissa. They were there for the kid's hour so we browsed the books until it was over and got a chance for hugs.
I almost forgot! We checked out the weather and it looks like Hurricane Manuel has been downgraded to a Tropical Storm with one diagram showing it making a button hook turn through the opening to the
