It was Costco morning but before we headed there, we went by the building department to check on the creek issue once more. If we keep doing it over and over expecting a different result
We had a map this time with parcel numbers, that should help. We got a young lady this time and she took our info and was gone for some time. Finally she showed up with an ordinance (I guess it isn't parcel by parcel, ha) but it said clearance to a creek had to be 50 feet from the edge of the water line. How the heck are you supposed to know where that is. I have always seen the measurement from the middle. Right now there is no edge, not to mention that would leave ten feet of buildable space left on the lot. This is why it is important to do the homework. Her final bottom line was the usual. They take no responsibility. We were told we had to get a letter from an Environmental Consultant on where the creek was or even if it was a creek, not simply run off. Not sure of the difference there but who am I. Interesting to see that things haven't changed from their end.
We headed over to West Marine to pick up their free copy of Latitude 38. I guess it is hard to get the salt out of our veins so quickly. Actually, we were interested to see if Neos showed up in the list of boats heading south at the end of the month in what is called the Baja Ha Ha, a regatta that encourages people to take that step away from the docks. No Neos.
We filled the grocery cart at Costco and headed home to pack everything away, by then half the day was gone. In the afternoon we got a visit by the grandkids and tried a ghost project we found on Pinterest. It didn't quite work out, too many substitutions by us. You drape cheese cloth (we substituted here) over a bottle, spray it with starch, making a ghostly shape, then remove the bottle and add a couple of eyes and you end up with a filmy little ghost that stands on his own. We will try again next time.
I finished the day with Karate class then came home to relax and watch a little on the tube with Sue. After some TED Talks (the professional pick pocket was great) we watched some more Blacklist. We both enjoy this one, be sure to check it out
..more later..
