We had some fun yesterday. It was a minimum day at school for Max so, as we had planned, we picked him up just as he got out. We were off for an afternoon of golfing, miniature style. We headed to the first place but they look to be closed for the season, maybe open on weekends so we headed a little farther on to Scandia. They were open and we practically had the place to ourselves. What fun. We bought into the big ticket getting full use of both courses. Max had never been golfing before so on the first hole he kind of wondered what we were to do. I showed how to hold the club a little and do a few warm up swings past the ball, but typical kid, those finer things really didn't matter. He held the club any which way, swung any which way, and kept up with the two of us just fine. He discovered that each hole had different obstacles so as soon as we finished one he was off to the next to explain to us the nuances discovered ahead. We had a blast going through both courses, discovering what happens if you get the ball through the door vs down the gutter.
We still had lots of time left so we headed inside to the arcade. I handed Sue a twenty dollar bill and she managed to get it in the machine then realizing that the machine made no change. We had twenty bucks worth of tokens. What the heck, Max had loads of fun. The machines spit out tickets that could be turned in for prizes at the end. Max hit the jackpot. He was pressing the 100 ticket mark when the magic jelly fish appeared. He was able to harpoon it, racking in a bonus five hundred tickets. It was like Las Vegas, the tickets kept coming out of the machine. After having loads of fun at all the different machines, we headed to the ticket counter, a machine that gobbles up the tickets and give you a receipt. Then we were off to the trinket counter where Max had loads of fun picking out his loot, not forgetting his little sister, picking out a nice little pink and purple bracelet (her favorite colors).
It was karate night so we had run out of time. We dropped off Max to tell his mom and dad about the day as we sped off. What a day!!...more later..
