We are getting down to the final days of buying the house. We went to the bank and emptied the nest egg and wired the money to the title company. Then we were off to the title company to sign paper work. Sue reminded me the last time we were signing paperwork was the morning of 9-11. All went with less excitement this time.
After spending all our money and signing our lives away we felt a trip to See's candy shop to redeem a gift certificate was in order so we headed over to the big shopping center near by. With an empty house almost within our ownership, all those shops have a lot of inviting things that could be useful when decorating but I try to simply put the ideas into storage (memory) to try and recreate for myself at a later date.
In the evening we had the final walk through, meeting the lady who was moving out. It looks like she is a school teacher who is now working down in Elk Grove and needs to move closer to work. She was a real nice lady and willing to give us any info about the house that we had questions on. She had cleaned up and vacuumed the place so it looked nice. We learned that the neighbors are real friendly as she mentioned that was the hardest part of moving, leaving the nice neighborhood. That is a real relief.
So, another step closer to home ownership. Almost time to get in there and start the remodel phase
.more later..
