Yesterday was the 90th Birthday of an old friend.  Elton and I worked on some unique projects together.  His house was the first, and probably the most, solar house I worked on, but there was another house that really stands out.  Mr. and Mrs. Day owned fifty acres of land just above Colfax and decided to build a house there from the wood that was on the property.  A mill was brought in which gave Elton and I the wood we needed right out of the forest next to the home.  Nothing like seeing the "entire" project, beginning to end.  The guy who fell the trees could land them on a dime.  The huge three foot blade was amazing as it sliced through the wood.  And the wood was all full size, an actual two inches by four inches and first growth, not a knot anywhere.  It was a fun project, one I will always remember doing with a great friend, Happy Birthday Elton….more later..
