Current Daily Log

0807, Sunday, February 16, 2014, Rocklin, CA.

I got started on the log yesterday but it was early out the door day for karate class and I ran out of time, but we have been real busy at the house. The framing in the family room is about 98 percent complete with the electric and hvac still to put in order before sheet rock. The new toy arrived the other day and after all the worry of how we were going to get that heavy table saw up the driveway to the garage it was all over in a matter of minutes. The driver had a pallet jack to get the saw to the tailgate (lift gate). Sue and I were both thinking alike. As soon as the driver wheeled it off the tailgate onto the sidewalk we were both behind it and pushing before anything was said. It zoomed up the drive and into the garage in a matter of seconds. I don't know if the driver was intending to do that or not but we didn't give him much chance for anything else.
Yesterday I started assembling the new machine but didn't get finished before quitting time. The Blooms came by to check our progress and a couple came to pick up the cinder blocks.
In the evening I had bouncer duty. Our karate class was asked to stand at the doors to remind people that alcohol was not permitted outside. The Auburn Recreation Department put on a Sock Hop to raise money and asked if we would help out in that way. It was fun. I got to see a few people I knew from the past and the band was pretty good.
Once home we watched the Olympics and were just about to head to bed when they announced that Curling was coming up. We stayed up late to watch that interesting game….more later..
