We're still here. Sorry I missed Saturday. Oops.
I started out with that trip up the hill for karate then several of us headed over to Starbucks which took up some of the morning hours. Once home, Sue and I went to the house and puttered, doing some figuring, getting some measurements. With so many options for the kitchen it is hard to come up with just what we want. Back to the drawing boards for the afternoon while the Olympics played in the background.
With the rain we were able to see if the house is waterproof. Somewhere along the line someone had a wood stove or something in the garage and all that is left of it is a chimney pipe through the roof, sort of hanging there. It leaks a little so I went up there and ran a bead of caulk around it but water is still getting in. Guess I will have to head up there Monday and remove it and close up the hole. There is one little moist spot right at the sliding glass door but that isn't unusual for sliding glass doors. I would venture to guess 90 percent of them leak a tiny bit in the lower corners. But that was it, so I am a happy guy!
Ryan came by to look at one of the old cabinets from the kitchen and with about five minutes of separating the parts I think there is still some left for him to make into some decent storage…..more later..
