It is time to take the next big step on the countertop. All the fitting is done. Now to put it all together. It takes every tool known to man, belt sander, orbital sander, router, skill saw, sawzall, jig saw, and even the shop vac. It seems that I am forever plugging and unplugging tools. The fitting process is slow. You do a little shaping, then everything is put back together and tested. Then it all comes apart again to do a little more shaping then put back to the test once again, a very slow process. There is one good trick that works well, running a saw down the crack, in this case the jig saw. This takes out the wood the thickness of the blade each time but parallel to each side as well. This will only work if you can keep the parts from moving, in this case the parts are so heavy, they stay in place. Now for assembly…..more later..
