0730, Sun, 062914. Killarney, Ireland.
One stop yesterday, but one that gives me the ability to spin great yarns of nonsense. Yes, we kissed the Blarney Stone. The bus let us off at the head of a trail up to the Castle Blarney and we joined the crowd that climbed the stairs to the top. Along the way was a girl's choir, also on their way to kiss the stone, that broke out in song as we passed through the halls of the building. We reached the top, knelt down on our knees, laid our our backs and slid our head down a hole about a hundred feet off the ground to kiss the stone, no easy task. But it was enlightening with all sorts of Blarney pouring into my head.
With just a slight shower as we left the castle we enjoyed another great day of weather. We spent some time going through the gift shops and then back to the busses to make our way to our hotel.
We took a quick spin around town by foot to see the sights looking for a nice little pub to have dinner. After scouring the entire tourist district we found the perfect spot. Sue enjoyed her leek and potato soup while I had a salad and a pint of Murphy's....more later.
