Last night was our last night in the apartment. It served us well. Time to move on.
I worked on cabinets once again, no surprise there but took a slight step backwards. The first face frame out of the bunch just had too many mistakes to overcome. It was set aside and a new one was made. I think each one should get better with less mistakes as I get used to making these things. It was almost forty years ago I worked in a cabinet shop with all the special equipment one could ask for to put cabinets together. There were three or four of us assembling cabinets, each person having their own little section of assembly. The boss drew the dimensions and made a material list. The son did most of the cutting on a huge table saw that would make mine look like a toy. I assembled face frames and turned out raised panel doors while another guy assembled the boxes and installed the face frames on them. The son and I would then head out into the field and install them. Now, I am the entire crew with a little help from the painter (that's Sue) now and then. I'm still perfecting the mortise and tenon joint as I go and think I should be able to move along smoother now. Hopefully Sue will have a working kitchen soon…..more later..
